Products  >  The EJC in brief

Applications

The EJC allows OEMs and system integrators to connect any device or equipment to the internet or to an intranet, and provides a fast and reliable interface for remote management, control, and maintenance.

Of course, the EJC can also be used for 'standalone' systems that don't need any kind of network connectivity. As a flexible and powerful general-purpose platform, the potential applications of the EJC are many.

Benefits

The EJC enables OEMs and system integrators to minimize time to market for their applications and products, and reduce the costs associated to all the stages of the development process. Learn how in Benefits of the EJC.

Hardware

The EJC provides an Ethernet connection to the network and all kind of interfaces to connect to other devices or equipment, including LCD or CRT displays, digital and analog I/O, RS232, RS485, I2C, etc. Check the exact specifications of each EJC module in the products section.

Software

The EJC software includes an advanced RTOS, a blisteringly fast Java Virtual Machine and Java runtime with standard Java libraries, and additional class libraries that provide additional functionality (HTTP, FTP, Telnet, SMTP, POP3, etc.) and allow direct access to the EJC hardware.

The support for TCP/IP networking makes it possible to interact with other devices, publish live data on the network, or expose a remote control and management user interface that can be accessed from a standard web browser running on a PC or workstation, or on devices such as PDAs or mobile phones.
